People continue to receive Tika and blessings

KATHMANDU, OCT 04 - Dashain festival continued on Saturday as people received Tika and Jamara along with the blessings from their elders. People are continuing to visit their relatives to receive Tika and blessings .

It is believed that receiving Tika and blessings herald prosperity. Bijaya Dashami is the biggest festival of the Hindus and is viewed as marking the victory of good over evil.

The festival will continue until the day of Purnima, the final day of Bada Dashain which falls on October 7 this year, where the the elders put tika (a mixture of rice, yogurt and vermillion) on the forehead of younger members of the family or relatives.
