Nepal-India integrated check post construction is going on

Construction of the Nepal-India Integrated Check Post is taking place with full speed at the Nepalgunj transit point.

The post will have infrastructures for customs, quarantine, immigration and security on both sides of the border. After the construction of the post, it will be easier for the locals to take different services from the same place. It is believed that providing integrated services from one lace will promote fiscal transparency and increase in revenue.

Acquisition of land for constructing the post, distribution of compensation for the land acquired for this purpose and the construction of a barracks for security personnel has been completed, according to the Urban Development and Building Construction Division Office, Nepalgunj.

The integrated check post is to be constructed on 90 bighas land by India. The Government of Nepal has allocated Rs 93.9 million for the construction of the check post and of this amount Rs 90.4 million has been spent in the last six years. The check post is also to be linked to the Indian Railways. RSS
