APR 30 - KATHMANDU,

CPN-UML parliamentary party (PP) leader KP Sharma Oli has been airlifted to Bangkok in an air ambulance on Wednesday afternoon for further treatment .

Leader Oli was undergoing treatment at Maharajgunj-based TU Teaching Hospital where he was diagnosed of meningitis. Sources close to Oli said that he will receive treatment at the Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok.

"It's not that the leader's treatment was not in the country, but we have decided to fly him to Bangkok as the hospital got overcrowded," sources said.

Earlier, Oli's medical reports had confirmed that he was suffering from meningitis.

Two weeks after his return from New Delhi, Oli was admitted at the hospital following high fever and vomiting on Sunday night.

Oli had undergone treatment for about a month at the Saket-based Max Hospital in New Delhi. Following his discharge from the hospital, he was moved to an apartment in Sultanpur where he stayed around two weeks.
